Greetings Adventurers!  

The April 28 (Wed) maintenance update has brought with it the “Backup Code” feature. This feature allows Adventurers who set up an OTP to use backup codes to authenticate their log in when they can’t use their OTP authentication. 

■ How to View Backup Codes 

Log in to the Black Desert official website to go to [Support] -> [Game Security Center] -> [OTP Settings] -> [Check Backup Codes] and you’ll be able to see your backup codes as shown below.  

* Please make sure to store your backup codes in a safe place.  

* Each of the ten backup codes can only be used once. Any code that has already been used cannot be used again to log in.  

* You can create new backup codes by pressing the “Create New Backup Codes” button.  

■ How to Use Backup Codes

If you are unable to sign in with an OTP, you can log in to the Black Desert Online launcher and click on “Cannot enter an OTP verification code?” to enter your backup code. 

* If you lose your backup codes, you can go to [Support] -> [Security Center] -> [OTP Settings] -> [Check Backup Codes] to find them.   

In order to safely manage your valuable Black Desert online account and personal information, we recommend using our PC registration setting, OTP setting, and regularly changing your password.
