Notices Nov 4, 2020, 11:00 (UTC+3) Kalqueesh Monster Loot Issue Follow-up Notice
3

Greetings Adventurers,

After our announcement for the Kalqueesh Monster Loot Issue, we’ve continued to see the several concerns raised by Adventurers regarding it.

First off, we sincerely apologize for the fact our announcement lacked detailed explanations on what caused this issue to occur and how we would prevent similar issues from occurring, especially when such an issue like this directly impacts an important part of our Adventurers’ gameplay.

The primary cause of this issue was the deletion of “Ancient Power - Black Shard, Black Stone (Armor), Power Engine of Ancient Weapons” from the obtainable loot of Kalqueesh during the process of upgrading the loot for Valencia region Gatekeeper monsters in the October 21, 2020 (Wed) update. Afterwards, we confirmed that the verification process of comparing past data was skipped, which resulted in the data being applied to the live servers in this missing state.

Despite this verification process, since the issue was the result of the verification step being skipped in its entirety, we’ve re-examined the current process, and we plan to implement an automatic process that can detect and verify any data that is added, deleted, or changed as soon as possible, so issues like this one will not occur again.

The entire Black Desert team fully understands just how important obtaining loot is in Black Desert. We will do our utmost to prevent similar issues from occurring in the future with a more thorough verification process as our basis.

For the past 2 weeks, Adventurers have played at Hystria Ruins with the goal of obtaining loot, and we are fully aware just how demotivating this issue could be for those Adventurers.

While we might not be able to fully satisfy our disappointed Adventurers, we’ve prepared the two following compensations to best preserve the time and effort everyone put in as much as possible.

1. Items that were not obtained normally due to loot being missing will be compensated in the form of an item bundle.

We’ve been examining the game records for loot obtained by all Adventurers with a record of playing in Hystria Ruins since the October 21, 2020 (Wed) maintenance. We will be providing a Kalqueesh Reward Bundle to all Adventurers whose game records are verified according to the criteria below once we examine all the game records before the November 4, 2020 (Wed) maintenance. Even though this issue only affected Kalqueesh, please note that the compensation was calculated based on the total amount of loot obtained at Hystria Ruins to make it as efficient as possible.

[Considered Criteria and Calculation Method]

- Depending on the total amount of loot obtained by Adventurers with a record of looting monsters in Hystria Ruins during the time the issue was occurring, we calculated the time each Adventurer spent defeating monsters according to the amount of loot that was obtainable per hour.

- Based on this time, we calculated the size of the Kalqueesh Reward Bundle according to the number of Kalqueesh monsters that can be defeated per hour. (The number of Kalqueesh monsters that can be defeated per hour was calculated according to the number that can be defeated in Hystria Ruins by an experienced player with gear at 300 AP.)

- The Kalqueesh Reward Bundle is composed of loot you obtain when you defeat 10 Kalqueesh.

- The Kalqueesh Reward Bundle takes into consideration the buffs that increase item drop rate that can be applied while defeating monsters, and the bundle was created with these buffs active in mind.
(Power Engine of Ancient Weapon was replaced with Gold Bar 10G x3.)

[List of Considered Item Drop Rate Buffs]

- All consumable items that can apply an item drop rate buff.

- Increase from Obtainable Knowledge, Pets, other separate buffs.

2. As a token of apology, all Adventurers will be given item drop rate buff items.

As this issue not only inconvenienced Adventurers who were directly affected but gave concern to all Adventurers who play Black Desert, we will be providing the compensation below as a token of our apology.

1) Item Rate +50% Buff

- 2-week long on all servers after the November 11, 2020 (Wed) maintenance

※ The item drop rate buff will not apply to the Arsha server. (Update)

2) Items Given to All Adventurers
- Item Collection Increase Scroll: Advanced (60 min) x5

- GM’s Blessing Ⅲ x3

※ The Kalqueesh Reward Bundle and items given to all Adventurers will be sent by in-game mail during the November 11, 2020 (Wed) maintenance.

Once again, we sincerely apologize for the concern and disappointment caused by this loot issue.

We understand just how any mistake related to our service, no matter how small, can become a serious and critical issue for our Adventurers. We will do our utmost to prevent such issues from occurring in the future. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
