Announcements

GM Notes Dec 21, 2018, 14:00 (UTC+3) <Start of a New Era - Central Market >
4

The Marketplace will be renewed on 12/26/2018 (Wed).

The new name for the Marketplace will be the ‘Central Market’.

We will go over the changes and see how the new market works!

■ What are the benefits of the Central Market?

  1. You will be able to access the Central Market from anywhere using the PC/mobile web page.

  • Before, you had to wait in front of the Marketplace for a long time and go to the exact city in order to retrieve the item that was not sold. This was a huge inconvenience while using the old Marketplace.

  • After the update, you will be able to use the Central Market with the silver and items within your ‘Central Market Warehouse’ by logging into the website on your PC or mobile devices.

  1. The item prices will reflect the supply and demand of the economy.

  • Before, items had a set price range regardless of their supply or demand. Now, the Central Market prices will fluctuate and reflect the current market situation better so that items can be sold and bought at their appropriate prices. (Excluding certain items)

  1. The ‘Central Market Warehouse’ will be added.

  • Before, you had to keep items and silver in your inventory or a town storage, but the Central Market will come with a warehouse for you to store them. The warehouse acts like a wallet for the market and will allow you to access and use it from anywhere, at any time. However, you’ll have to talk to the Marketplace Director or use a maid/butler to move the items and silver stored in the ‘Central Market Warehouse’ to your inventory/storage.

  1. Items that have changing prices will be displayed separately.

  • To prevent abuse of the Central Market, items with fluctuating prices will be shown on the very first screen to make them easily visible to all Adventurers.

  1. The way that Pre-orders work will be changed.

  • Popular and rare items were out of stock in the Marketplace often. You would have to invest a lot of time to bid for the item you wanted. Once the Central Market opens, bidding will be a thing of the past! All items will be sold to pre-orders first. So, if you have an item you want to buy that is currently not available in the market, you can just place your pre-order and wait for your turn.

※ Pre-ordering in the Central Market is different from the old Marketplace. You must select 1 of the price options given to you when placing pre-orders.

  • Enhancement level for placing a pre-order is set as minimum level of each group.

    e.g.) When placing a pre-order for 0 ~ 7 range, pre-order is set for 0. When placing a pre-order for 8~10 range, pre-order is set as 8.

  1. Items will be registered on the Central Market without a delay.

  • There was a 15-minute waiting time with the former marketplace. However, you can sell and register items without any waiting time in the new market.

  1. All Adventurers that have placed pre-orders or listed items for sale will be displayed.

※ The PC and Mobile website for the Central Market is not available at the moment. We will announce via patch notes once they are available.

■ What will change?

Old Marketplace

Adventurers traded directly with each other through the Marketplace.

  • When Adventurer ‘A’ registers an item, Adventurer ‘B’ could buy the item.

Central Market

Adventurers will now trade with the Central Market instead.

  • The market buys the items that Adventurer ‘A’ registers to sell. Then Adventurer ‘B’ comes along and buys the items off the market.

(Please note - the market will only stock a set amount of items at a time.)

① Selling items

When the Marketplace Director is not fully stocked on an item:

→ You can sell the item to the Marketplace Director and get your money right away.

When the Marketplace Director is fully stocked on an item:

→ You can register the item to be sold at a lower price than the current market price. You will get the silver for them when other adventurers buy the item and make room for more stock.

② Purchasing items

When the Marketplace Directors have the item in stock:

→ You can buy it right away from the Marketplace Directors.

When the Marketplace Directors do not have the item in stock:

→ You can place a pre-order for the item at a price that is higher than the current market price. You will get the item when another adventurer sells the item to the Marketplace Directors.

※ However, if there are a lot of Adventurers who pre-ordered for an item at the same price, the items will be sold to Adventurers that placed their pre-orders first.

Central Market Warehouse (Used for the Central Market)

- The warehouse is a type of inventory used for the Central Market.

- You can move silver or items from your inventory to Central Market Warehouse through the Marketplace Directors or maids/butlers.

- If you have items or silver within the warehouse, you can use the Central Market no matter where you are within the world of Black Desert.

- Items purchased from the Central Market and the silver for the items sold to market will go to the Central Market Warehouse.

■ How do I buy or sell in the new Central Market?

As we have mentioned above, items must be placed in the Central Market Warehouse to be registered for sale. You can register items in the warehouse by clicking the ‘Register Item’ button.

The Central Market will purchase the item immediately if it is not fully stocked. This purchase will be made according to the market price, which will be affected by the supply and demand of the market.

If the Central Market is fully stocked, the purchase will not made right away. Instead, it will be listed for sales. The item must be listed at a price that is lower than the current market price.

On the other hand, you must have enough silver within the warehouse to purchase items.

If the Marketplace Directors have the item available, then you can purchase it right away.

But, if the item is out of stock, you can place a pre-order for the item.

The pre-order price must be higher than the market price.

▲Pre-orders must be higher than the market price while listing sales must be at a lower price.

■ Will Taxes be the same as before?

- Yes. You will receive 65% of the silver from your sales. If you are using the Value Pack, you will receive 84.5%.

▲ Taxes will be the same as before.

We hope this GM note answered some of your questions about the Central Market.

We shall return with more useful facts!

Thank you.
