MAJOR UPDATES - PEN (V) Blackstar Main/Awakening Weapon Reward

New Primordial grade weapons, "Sovereign", is set to make its debut in the Black Desert.

These new weapons will be released approximately five years after the Star's End in western Calpheon was first introduced.

 

Ahead of the Sovereign Weapon release, we have prepared an update to assist both veteran adventurers who have crafted PEN (V) Blackstar weapons and new adventurers just starting their journey.

 

With the newly added method, adventurers can select and obtain one PEN (V) Blackstar main or awakening weapon.

 

Veteran adventurers who have been crafting PEN (V) Blackstar weapons will be able to quickly craft the upcoming Sovereign weapons,
while new adventurers can use the obtained PEN (V) Blackstar weapon to challenge higher-level monster zones or content.

 

This serves as a form of support content, similar to guaranteed upgrades for PEN boss equipment or PEN boss defense gear from the Magnus, aiming to aid adventurers in their step-by-step growth.

  • Right-click the Choose Your PEN (V) Blackstar Weapon Box from your Inventory (I) to choose between a main or awakening weapon.
 
  • Opening the Choose Your PEN (V) Blackstar Weapon Box will give you a PEN (V) Blackstar of the the class that opened the box.


※ Notes

① There will be a text prompt to enter before you get to choose your main (Succession) or awakening (Awakening) weapon.
Once you’ve entered the text and obtained your weapon, there’s no going back (recovery/exchange is not supported).
 
② Opening the box will grant you a weapon suitable for your character’s class.  (ex : If a Ranger opens the main weapon box, you'll get a Blackstar Longbow)
Please make certain that you are opening the box with the correct class.
If you make a mistake, you can use a "Weapon Exchange Coupon" to change the weapon.
(You can get a "Weapon Exchange Coupon" by exchanging Seal of Journey obtained from the Season Pass.)

③ If you wish to obtain a weapon for the new class, Dusa, please open the box after the July 3, 2024 (Wed) update.
Unawakened Dusa cannot open the awakening weapon box (until his Awakening update.)

④ Can be equipped by "normal characters" only, not season characters and cannot be registered on the Central Market.
Shai cannot open the awakening weapon box.

From the moment you came to in Balenos, you encountered a fiery red-haired noblewoman, Jarette Domongatt of Serendia. Initially, she might have looked down on you, a disheveled adventurer just waking from slumber. However, as you solve the myriad problems plaguing Balenos, she recognized your prowess and formally invited you to join her in Serendia.

 

Embark on an epic journey with Jarette, navigating the intricate political landscape of the Black Desert continent. You will face conflicts driven by characters with diverse motives, all while unraveling the seeds of turmoil sprouting in Serendia and spreading to the neighboring Calpheon. As you traverse through countless pivotal choices, immerse yourself in the newly revamped main quests of Serendia and Calpheon, where your actions will shape the unfolding narrative.

 

We have fully voiced all dialogues in the main quests, incorporating feedback from adventurers to ensure that essential background knowledge is seamlessly integrated through detailed illustrations. The original cutscenes have been re-recorded with enhanced dialogue, sound effects, and background music, elevating the overall quality. Additionally, numerous brand-new cutscenes have been crafted, offering approximately an hour of cinematic content.

 

Furthermore, the "Serendia II" quest, previously teased at the Calpheon Ball under the working title "Kzarka Side Story," has been updated. Upon completing your journey from the Ancient Stone Chamber to Calpheon, you will receive a letter from "D," leading you to Glish. Here, you will investigate a series of mysterious disappearances involving women, gradually uncovering a grand truth. This story, pivotal to the lore of Black Desert, is brought to life with full voice acting, illustrations, and immersive cutscenes. Dive in and experience the unfolding tale firsthand."

How to Enjoy the Main Questline with Voice Dubbing

During the quest, try using the "Auto-skip lines in sync with audio (Tab)" feature located at the bottom right of the screen.
Without keyboard controls, the story progresses in sync with the audio.

We hope this adds to the immersion when questing through Serendia and Calpheon.

Until now, you could only get Deboreka accessories from "Monster Zones." However, just like the recent update that introduced a slim chance to get them from "Node War" content, we want to give players who prefer a more relaxed playstyle a shot at these coveted items, even if the odds are very low.

 

※ In the future, Atoraxxion will also be added as a way to obtain Deboreka accessories.

NODE/CONQUEST WAR

We've updated the rules for fort activation based on the number of guilds (or alliances) participating in Node Wars within each territory. After territories have been set and at 10 minutes before the start of a Node War, if less than 50% of the registered guilds have pressed the participation button, their forts will not be activated. However, these guilds can still participate in the Node War as usual, even if they don't meet the activation criteria.


This change aims to prevent an excessive number of forts from being created compared to the total number of participants, ensuring smoother and more dynamic battles for all adventurers involved.


We appreciate the increased participation in Node Wars since the update and will continue to fine-tune the content as needed to ensure everyone has an enjoyable experience. Thank you for your continued support!

  • Added the following system rules to the total number of nodes activated based on the number of guilds (alliances) that applied to participate in the Node War territory group.

Nodes will be activated according to the number of guilds (alliances) that apply for Node War in each territory.
(If the number of guilds (alliances) applying in a territory is four or fewer, Node War will be held in one territory within that group. The same number of forts will be activated as per the existing fort activation rules.)

- 10 minutes before the Node War starts,
If fewer than 50% of the maximum participants in a guild (alliance) click the "Participate" button,
they will not be included in the calculation for the number of activated forts.
(They will still be able to participate in the Node War.)

For example,
in the Calpheon Territory, if the maximum number of participants is 75 and fewer than 37 members click the "Participate" button 10 minutes before the Node War starts, it will not affect the number of activated forts.
