Hello Adventurers,

This is Seoyoon Kim, the Director of Global Service Division of Black Desert.



Starting with the field survey early in 2017 before the launch of Black Desert Turkey & MENA, I have been working as the Service Director for a long time. Still, this is the very first time I got to greet our Adventurers through a letter, so I’m a bit nervous. I’d like to take this opportunity to have an honest discussion about the various achievements and the many concerns that have come up during the past 15 months.



In 2017, I felt a great deal of pressure from the moment we started planning to provide our services in Turkey & MENA due to the fact that it was “directly serviced by Pearl Abyss”. We wanted to provide exceptional service and also show our Adventurers everything we are capable of. We had high hopes for the Turkey & MENA region as well. As we prepared to launch, we were mainly concerned about whether or not we could truly live up to the expectations of our Adventurers. It was a worthwhile challenge and we were extremely proud to start servicing in this region.



As we looked to reach out to even more Adventurers, we expanded our horizons to Steam last year to introduce the beauty that’s inside of Black Desert. Afterward, we continued to aim high by pouring in an abundance of new contents, unique new classes, and various events. The result is what you already see now. The growth of a region that is not far behind the other regions that launched earlier.



Still, we wanted to present our Adventurers in Turkey & MENA a step above what was expected. We wanted to give even more content, even faster. However, this led to bringing in something that was not fully prepared and caused some issues. This was completely on us, and we would like to sincerely apologize for the inconvenience it caused our Adventurers.



We are currently in the process of improving some of our internal procedures thanks to the wonderful feedback we received from our Adventurers in Turkey & MENA. Much effort is being put into stabilizing our service and minimizing possible disruptions by introducing new monitoring tools and reinforcing cross checks between staff. We at Pearl Abyss will strive to provide great service and numerous updates in the future.



You have genuinely awakened us to our wrongs, so we will do what we can to help give back to the Adventurers that continues to show us support and encouragement. We once again apologize for the trouble we have caused. Our service team here at Pearl Abyss will do everything in our power to reach out and communicate with you.



First,

We are holding a special offline event on March 23, 2019, in hopes of listening to various and significant feedback from many of our Adventurers.  



This will be the third time we get to meet after the previous 2017 GAME-X and 2018 GIST. We are expecting this offline event to be a great mode of communication where we can have open discussions about what you wanted to know about Black Desert, what you loved about it, and what you wanted to change.



Starting on February 28, 2019, details of this event will be posted. This is also when Adventurers can start sending in applications for this event, so please check it out.



We’ve always listened for feedback from within the game and other online communities. However, we always thought we could use more opportunities to talk to our Adventurers on a personal level. You can expect a lot from our service team that is coming out to meet you!



Second,

For all Adventurers that enter the world of Black Desert every day, “Gifting Pearls as March Login Rewards” event will begin on February 28, 2019, and proceed for one whole month. All Adventurers will be able to receive the same number of pearls as the number of days they log in during the entire event period. On top of everything we’ve mentioned, we continue to monitor and analyze the growth of our Adventures in Turkey & MENA. We are also keeping ourselves busy as we prepare even more contents to release during the first half of 2019 to keep pace with our rapidly growing Adventurers in Turkey & MENA.



There are many contents update awaiting to meet all the Adventurers including the long-awaited class Lahn, Drieghan - the land after Kamasylvia - and the mysterious area under the sea, Sycraia Underwater Ruins. We will explain more in regards to the contents mentioned today and present the exciting upcoming updates during the offline meeting on March 23, 2019.



The presentation during the offline meeting will have many fine details about the updates as we meet face to face. Then a GM Note will be posted with all the information summarized after the event is over.



There is much we need to work on, so we will continue to look for ways to improve our service. This is all in hopes of providing a great gaming experience through Black Desert.
