Section 1 - Introductory Rules

 

Article 1: Game and Competition Designation

1.1 Game: Black Desert

1.2 Competition Name: Arena of Arsha Turkey & MENA Championship 2019

 

Article 2: Participation Eligibility

2.1 An individual who is over the legal age of 15 with a Black Desert account that has a regular character level 61 or higher and is in a party of 3 members that each have level 60 trial characters are eligible to participate. (At the time of application)

2.2 The individual must not have a record of being restricted from the game within the past 6 months for any type of abuse in the game.

2.3 Players are to participate after entering their account ID under their name. Players cannot enter the competition using another person’s account, including someone from their family. (However, if you cannot receive the prize money into your account, then the prize money may be deposited into an account under your family name. ※ Requires certificate of family relations)

2.4 Players must present a photo ID (Social Security, Driver’s License, Passport, etc) to the organizer upon request.

2.5 If the individual is found to be not eligible to participate in the competition according to the aforementioned restrictions, that individual will be removed from the competition and the next ranked team will win the rights to compete.

2.6 If the player’s name is found to be inappropriate, they may be disqualified from competing and/or have their name changed by the organizer. 

 

Section 2 - Competition Format

Article 3: Match Format

3.1 Teams: 1 party consisting of 3 members, each with a different class.

3.2 Stages

 

① Preliminaries

 - Team Match (Single Elimination)

 - Brackets are determined by the organizers. 

 

② Group Stage

 - 32 Teams in a Group League (Round Robin) Format 

 - Team Match (3 matches - first to 2 wins)

 - Brackets are determined by the organizers.

 

③ Arena of Arsha Championship 

 - 16 Teams in a Tournament Format 

 - Team Match (3 matches - first to 2 wins, 5 matches - first to 3 wins, 7 matches - first to 4 wins)

 - Brackets are determined by the organizers.

 

3.3 Official Competition System: Arena of Arsha using Trial Characters (Succession Character not allowed)

Article 5: Resolving Draws 

 

5.1 If a match ends in a draw, the team with the higher total HP (percentage) is the winner. 

5.2 If the match ends in a draw according to the Arena of Arsha system, additional (single) match(es) will be played until a winner can be determined.  

5.3 If a winner cannot be decided before the end due to a draw, the team with the higher point total will be declared the winner.
5.4 If the points are tied in the group stage, the winning team order is determined by the following:

  1. Team with the higher match victories 
  2. Team with the better head-to-head record 
  3. If 1~2 conditions still result in a draw between teams, then the teams will participate in survival mode until a winner is determined. 

 

Chapter 3 - Match Rules

 

Article 6: Personal Hardware and 3rd-Party Program Use  

6.1 Players, in general, must participate using personal hardware. Unless the competition is offline, where instead of personal hardware, players may participate using hardware prepared by the organizers. 

6.2 Players may use the following hardware to complete in the competition.

6.3 Players who use hardware with macro save functions must fully comply with requests from the organizers regarding its settings. If the player fails to comply with any requests, the player will be deemed as using the macro function and be subject to the resulting measures. 

6.4 3rd-party programs other than hardware drivers and voice-chat programs cannot be used. 

 Example) Unofficial programs that can arbitrarily adjust mouse polling rate, monitor scan rate and etc.

6.5 Players are responsible for any program faults that may occur as a result of installed hardware driver and voice-chat program use. 

6.6 Players are responsible for any disadvantages and/or match results due to the personal hardware they use.  

6.7 The organiser has authority to select the PC OS type and other various PC settings, but is obliged to cooperate with the request of the player if the request is possible. 

Article 7: Match Settings

7.1 Players must complete setting their game options and hardware before the start of the match.

7.2 Players must check their environment and the state of their computer for anything that might affect the outcome of the match before the match starts. If any of the aforementioned elements affect the outcome of the match, it is solely the fault of the player.

7.3 The players’ Family name must match the Family name they entered on the application. 

 

Article 8: Competition Organizers’ Authority

8.1 The organizer of the competition is given the highest authority over the decisions made during the competition. The decisions made by the organizers cannot be overruled.

8.2 The organizers have the responsibility to examine the game environment to ensure the competition can be conducted with no difficulties.

8.3 The organizers can call the match a draw if they deem the match cannot continue due to specific circumstances, or if an event arises where it becomes difficult to decide the winner of a match.

8.4 Players may contact the organizers if they wish to forfeit the match due to specific circumstances.

8.5 The organizer may remove individuals related to players or observers if they are deemed to be significantly affecting the outcome of a match.

8.6 Organizers can consider additional penalties to players if a player overreacts to the decision made by the organizer or acts in a way that can affect the outcome of a match.

8.7 If there are any disputes regarding the decisions made by the organizer, they can contact the organizers separately (1:1). The organizers will make the final decision after reviewing the disagreement.

8.8 However, in accordance with 8.1 the decision will not be overturned. In the case that the decision is clearly proven to be a mistake, then the organizer who made the decision will be penalized accordingly.

 

Article 9: Prohibited Actions and Disorderly Conduct

9.1 The organizer may penalize players for the following cases:

▶ Asking to pause the match so that the player or their team members can fix their game options or equipment settings.

▶ Players or their team members failing to appear at the venue on time.

▶ Clearly causing their computer to shut down or their network device to malfunction, even if it was by mistake.  

▶ Using chat to affect the outcome of the game.

▶ Using excessive verbal expressions or purposely taunting the opponents.

 

 ※ 2 Cautions =  1 Warning

Warning

▶ Abusing a bug in the game.

▶ Using unapproved computer hardware and software.

▶ Intentionally disconnecting, causing issues to the flow of matches.

▶ Getting warned again for the same reason.

▶ Other reasons that the organizer deems necessary to issue a warning.


※ 2 Warnings = Disqualification

Disqualification

▶ Using unapproved illegal software or programs.

▶ If more than the allowed number of players (3 total) join the voice program.

▶ Using macros or unnatural methods of play (hacks, game altering software, etc).

▶ Making it impossible to continue the competition due to escalating disputes, using inappropriate language etc.

▶ If at least one member of the team fails to participate in the event on time.

▶ Participating in the event with characters using Succession characters or using Succession skills. 

9.2 Players may be penalized or restricted for other reasons that were not mentioned above if it is deemed to be disrupting the event.

 

Article 10: Disconnection

10.1 Players must reconnect after disconnecting and contact the organizer stating if they are able to continue the match or not.

10.2 Disconnecting will count as 1 death or more, the decision will be based on whether the disconnect happened before/after the fighting.

10.3 Decisions made after a disconnect, either by the players’ fault or system’s fault, will follow the chart below.

① In a 3:3 situation, the set will start in the same situation in the previous set.


② In a 3:1 or 3:2 situation, the number of players will be fixed in the Team Match mode and the round will resume under similar conditions.


③ In a 1:1, the set will restart as a 1:1 with the remaining members coming in as spectators to prepare for the upcoming sets.


※  If the organizer deems that restarting the set will significantly change the outcome, then the match will not count and will be redone from the start. 

 

Article 11: Team Name, Family Name, Class and Item Use

11.1 Player may be disqualified in the event of Family name/class of participating character being different from Family name and/or class registered in the application process. (Plays may only participate with trial characters of the same class as class registered in the application process)

11.2 Players may change the appearance of their class.

11.3 If the team name and/or character name are deemed inappropriate by the organizers the team will be disqualified and the next ranked team will be sent to the finals.

11.4 Players are allowed to use all items implemented in Turkey & MENA Black Desert client at the time of the competition except for potions. However, if the organizer deems certain items may cause major issues to the competition, the organizer may amend the rules to restrict the use of said items.

Article 12: Implementation

These regulations will take effect the moment they are announced.

 

Article 13: Regulation Accountability & Amendments

13.1 Organizers may amend the regulations/rules if certain implementations or other aspects of the latest update are found to be unfitting for the competition.

13.2 Players are held responsible to constantly check the regulations in order to not get penalized during the competition.

13.3 All the regulations and rules will be announced before the competition. However, if a situation arises that requires the organizer to make amendments to the regulations and rules, the organizer will announce the amendments on the official website.
